The Cammino dei Cappuccini crosses Le Marche from north to south, friary after friary, and closes in Ascoli Piceno. Our place sits on the Sacro Cuore hill, at the northern entrance to town: the last night of the walk — or the first, if you are heading the other way — with the travertine city spread out below you.

The Roman Bridge and the centre
From the refuge you walk down to the Solestà quarter and cross the Roman Bridge in a few minutes: from there you are among the travertine squares, Piazza del Popolo and the Cathedral of Sant'Emidio. On the way back, a gentle climb returns you to the quiet.

Give yourself a day as a slow traveller: the two squares, the Rue, Forte Malatesta, the fried stuffed olives and an anisetta at Caffè Meletti. And if your legs still want the trail, the Hermitage of San Marco among the chestnut woods is a short, beautiful walk.

Is this a good final stage of the walk?
Yes: we are at the northern entrance to Ascoli, the town where the route ends. You arrive on foot and you are in the centre in about fifteen minutes.
Do you take people riding the route?
Yes: covered storage is available on request, so your travelling companion spends the night under cover.
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, included, with an iron: after 400 kilometres it makes a real difference.
Can you stamp my pilgrim credential?

Can I arrive late or leave at dawn?
Yes: self check-in and self check-out, full freedom over your timings. You can set off with the first light.
Do you speak English?
